An original oil painting of winter arriving in Ryedale, North Yorkshire. The painting was produced over a two-month period in 2021 from sketches and photographs taken during a family walk in the beautiful Ryedale area of North Yorkshire not far from the famous Byland Abbey ruins. The composition captured the dramatic wintery sky that was my key focus when composing this piece. However, the house in the background is completely fictional and was added for narrational purposes.
